Home Sweet Home

We finally made it home! We're all trying to catch up on sleep while we have Gramma Terry here to help. Grandma & Grandpa McLain left today, and tomorrow we kind of have to start figuring out a real routine. But we're having so much fun!

Two of Maeli's nurses, Hawa & Normandie, taught her to love to swing while I was taking a nap. Normandie is just out of nursing school and Maeli was her only priority (it helped that by the end of our stay we were the only people in the OB). She kept sneaking in just to look at her because she's so beautiful.

She's such a happy girl now that WE'VE GOT MILK!

Just for the record, Dad was the first one to bring the baby to bed. We'll see what he has to say about that in 4 years.

Nurse Jenny & Maeli. Jenny was my nurse while I was in labor, clear into pushing, and she helped a ton while we were getting the hang on feeding.

Maeli in her swing at home.

Finally made it home!

Our big Girl!

Hanging out with Gramma Terry during nap time for Mom & Dad.--See Sheila, she is doing her job!

Ready to go for a walk.

Our first walk as a family, we made it all the way to the mail box and back!

You guys still look good - Maeli must be a good kid after all, in spite of the days of labor! Congrats on getting home. :)

Love the pictures, you two look like such proud parents! Hope you are getting a little sleep at least. The first few days at home are the hardest, so now that you have made it, you will be fine! Congrats again!

She is so pretty! And so much smaller than I thought she would be. But I don't think the first few days are the hardest. I think they are fairly easy, you're still excited by having a new baby. I think that it usually hits me after about six months with no sleep. Glad Gramma Terry is doing her job and you are doing yours (resting up!) Jeremy is a abad bad boy, bringing that baby to bed. It took us forever to get our kids out of our bed. oh wait, Kennedy slept with us last night. Olivia is our best sleeper (and that's not saying much) and she sleeps in her own bed. Well, for the first nine hours of the night....

I'm so jealous, I wish that I could be there to hold her too. Of course after July I could always come and live with you to make sure that you still get enough sleep. She sure is a cutie, I want lots of pictures, I have lots of empty frames now and need someone to put in them. Love you guys.

So cute! For us- I had a hard time later because of the lack of sleep (he wouldn't sleep unless he was being held, Aric would put him in the snuggli and carry him around in the wee hours just so I could sleep). Yep - our guy came into our bed too and he's still there. But you do what you need to do to survive. But yes, enjoy they grow so very fast.

Maeli is so beautiful and looks so alert for a newborn. Enjoy every minute and don't sweat the small stuff! Look at her, memorize her face and smell because it all fades away way to fast!!! We love you guys and can't wait to see you in July. Don't let Grandma Terry rub off all the sweetness. Love Opie and fam
