Catch Up

I've been yelled at a lot for my lack of blogging. I put it off because it seemed like we were just about to see all the family, and they are the ones that tend to do the yelling anyway.

For those of you who haven't heard, I totaled our car over Thanksgiving break. It was early on Saturday, I was on the way from the McLain's house to meet my Dad to pick up something we had forgotten in St. Helens the day before. I was going slow because it was frosty on the road, but I hit a patch of ice and did a 180 into a tree. I was the only one in the car, and other than a few bruises and a little airbag burn, I'm totally fine, but sore. We feel lucky that things weren't worse, but my Rav4 didn't survive. I'm pretty sad about that, my first car, but it'll be fun to test-drive cars with Jeremy.

Other than that, we've been pretty busy. I started a little project (below) and Jeremy and his Dad built me a new top:

not bad for a desk that was here when we moved in, I love re purposing

After we got back from Thanksgiving we put up our Christmas tree. Maeli seemed to think it was a little weird, but kind of fun too.

Today she fell asleep in her swing and it looked like she passed out drunk or something. It was really cute.

I decided to make pie for the first time ever. Our friends had a pre-Thanksgiving dinner, and I volunteered.

they turned out okay, I need to work on my crust, but for the first time...not too bad.

And some shots of Maeli playing with her toys:

she prefers to get them all out at once
from the second I put her in the tub until it was time to put a shirt on, she would not let go of that duck.

You should blog more often as it's so informative. I'm glad you're okay after the ice/tree incident. I love the pictures! gram

It looks like Maeli is going to take after her mama and a messy one. I guess that means it's time to start working on another one so she has a sister to blame it on too! Love Chanie

Sorry about your accident. As one who has a fair bit of experience in the car-totaling department, I empathize greatly.

Oh, yeah - no one ever tells me anything! So it's a good thing you blogged it, or I would have been all "where's your car?" at Christmas, and then felt really dumb. :)
