Oregon

We took off for Oregon after the 4th of July. It was a different not having Dan and Connie there (Jeremy parents are vacationing in Alaska this summer). We tried not to have too much fun without them, but there were a lot of Aunts to see. Maeli got to meet her Aunt Melinda and all the Utah crew. Wendy wasn't able to come out from Oklahoma and missed her lots. We also didn't get a chance to see Dannell or Kathleen or Amanda and we really missed them. It just seems like no matter how much time we go for its always busy. And Jeremy got sick part way through and couldn't really play too much. But overall I felt like it was vacation. Its always so nice to have family around so you can let other people worry about your kid(s). These are some of the highlights that we were able to capture on film:

Tubes

Maeli had to get Tubes in her ears on Wednesday. She did pretty good considering we had to be at the hospital at 6:30, and she normal would sleep until 8 if we could let her. Because of our Family History of MH, she had to have an IV and anesthesia through it rather than the gas. They gave her some great "relaxing" stuff before hand, and she got a little loopy. She seems to be feeling better, although she's still having rough nights, she wakes up happy and ready to play in the morning.

Colgate Country Showdown

We went to Schmuck Park (that's its REAL name!) today to watch my friend Ami compete in the Regional level of the Colgate Country showdown. Its was pretty fun, although she didn't win and won't be going on to State. I didn't agree with the judges decision, although the guys that did win wrote their won song and I guess you get bonus points for that. Whatever--they looked scary. It was fun to spend the afternoon in the park, and Maeli had lots of fun playing with her friend Maya.
